Launched : March 2008
Technology: CMS - Driven Website
Industry: Commerce

Bionic was established in 1990 and in its initial steps the company’s main focus was on electronic parts, cables and TV antennas. The company grew into the organisation it is today, offering computer systems, and electronic items such as digital cameras, MP3 players and gadgets, networking solutions, tools and measuring instruments, computer peripherals, consumables and gaming consoles.

Bionic have constantly and steadily expanded. Moving to their new purpose-built store and offices has helped this expansion greatly. Along with this expansion came the need for a professional site that would not only offer a presence on the web, but would also allow the company to display their many products and services online.

The Bionic team contacted us, and together, we actively brainstormed and planned the web strategies that would be implemented. It was discussed that the site would be developed in two stages;

Stage one would allow for the corporate web presence to be fully established. This stage in the development would house the various attributes such as;

  • Home page
  • About Us
  • Product Brands
  • Services
  • News
  • Contacts Us

The About Us section of the site would give the company’s history, display Bionic’s Mission Statement, house a section on the various career opportunities, inform customers of the Bionic Loyalty Card, and on becoming a Bionic Partner.

The About Us page was developed as a section and within the section, the above sub-sections and articles were housed. The Careers, Loyalty Card, and Partners pages were developed as sub-sections. These sub-sections are sections in their own right. For instance, the Careers section allows the user to browse the current vacancies and if interested, fill in the eForm with their personal data. The system will email the HR department of Bionic, informing them of the interested party. If the user wishes it, they can download a PDF application form and fax or post it to the HR department.

The Loyalty Card section gives the user plenty of information as regards to becoming a Bionic Card Holder. We developed a form for the user to fill in. When submitted, an email, just like above, will be sent to the Sales department, which can choose to either approve or disapprove the card application. The user has the ability of downloading the loyalty card application form if they wish to do so. The downloaded PDF application form can be sent to the Sales department via fax or post.

With over 1,000 partners in Cyprus, Bionic has weaved an enormous professional web. It was most welcome that we develop a section that housed an eForm. This form allows any entity to apply to Bionic in order to gain access to the partnership programme. Once again, a downloadable PDF document was added for users that preferred to either fax or post in their application.

As Bionic houses one of the largest product ranges on the island, we had to devise a strategy in displaying the products without the use of more than 4 clicks. For this stage in the development however, no physical products would be displayed. This aspect of the development will come at a later date, when the eShop is added to the Bionic site.

Within the Services section, Bionic wanted to show their muscle. It was decided to create a section, aptly titled Services, and house the various services the company carries out as articles. This simple method keeps the user fully updated with the service packages Bionic has at its disposal.

The News section of the site was developed as Bionic has always something going on! The news section is linked to the News component and displays the full news articles.

The Contact Us section was created to house a contact form and also an interactive flash-based location map. This map displays the exact location of the store (and offices) in a neat and informative way.

Certain components were also created such as the Special Offers component. This component actually does house products and the product detail along with the cost and any other specifications. Bionic, with the help of EasyConsole CMS, can choose to place this and all other components on any page they wish.

Other components used on the Bionic site are the News component, titled Company News; the careers section also makes an appearance along with the Job Opportunities component, as does the Bionic Loyalty Card component. The above three components are housed on the homepage, although the location of these components can change easily using EasyConsole.

We look forward to working with Bionic further in the very near future. Now that we have built a working relationship with this large organisation, we feel privileged that they are taking steps for the second development stage of the project and actively seeking to grow their presence on the World Wide Web.

Client Testimonials

  • The content management system, Easyconsole has enabled my job to be virtually non-existent. It handles better than any other content management system I have ever worked on, and trust me; I have worked on my fair share. Tony Robbins Europe

  • As a telecommunications company, we believe that the most important interface to our customers is our website... I was surprised to find out that we could make not only most of the updates on our website by our own but to add new features and sections very easily. Nicolas Nicolaou - CallSat Telecom
