24Sports.com.cy – More than 24 Reasons why they Selected DW to Create their Site

The design and development of the 24Sports.com.cy site meant more to us than just a mere challenge. It was an absolute pleasure for all involved, especially as we knew that we were about to embark on something truly special.

The company behind the site was eager to get a new and improved site up and running before the fourth quarter of 2008. That wasn’t their only requirement.

A site as vast as 24Sports, not only needed a powerful hosting service, but round-the-clock service too, as the site provides all sport fans with the latest sport news, not only locally, but also internationally. The administration that goes into a project like that can become top-heavy and difficult to handle if all involved are not pulling in the same direction.

The site design was an extremely important facet of the entire project. When discussing the diverse techniques, our design team researched many various methodologies on how best to present the news articles. After all, 24Sports.com.cy would be posting more than one hundred articles per day!

We came to the conclusion that our best bet would be to highlight the main article (latest released issue), and place a component to the right of the article, detailing all the latest news articles. By doing this, we allowed the user to read other articles of interest if they so wished.

Making sure that the site was not only aesthetically pleasing, but also extremely easy to use was another hurdle we had to overcome.

Using the EasyConsole framework allowed us to not only create a site that has shot to the top of the sports user ratings, but EasyConsole also allows the 24Sports administrative staff to work in cohesion with each other, and handle the various requests come in from the site.

The content management side of the site had to be easy to use. The many journalists that work for the organization didn’t want to be bogged down with a system that was not reliable enough.

EasyConsole has allowed the 24Sports team to manage their site with transparent efficiency.
